Budweiser was forced to apologise after this 'unsavoury' tagline appeared on bottles

People have accused it of promoting “rape culture”.

BUDWEISER HAS BEEN forced to apologise for its new slogan after people accused it of being “tone deaf” and promoting rape culture.

A slogan appearing on bottles of Bud Light stated that the beer removed “no” from your vocabulary and featured the hashtag “#UpForWhatever”.

People were dumbfounded.

And others accused the alcohol brand of being “careless” and “unsavoury” with its marketing, particularly with regard to the issue of consent.

The image went viral after it was posted to Reddit on Monday night and quickly made waves on social media.

Today, Vice President Alexander Lambrecht was forced to apologise for the tagline and told Buzzfeed News that it “missed the mark”.

It’s clear that this message missed the mark, and we regret it. We would never condone disrespectful or irresponsible behavior.

This is not the first time Budweiser has come under fire for its marketing.

On St. Patrick’s Day, it was forced to apologise for its #UpForWhatever tagline after it, too, was accused of promoting rape culture.
